Research project in process

1. Eating disorders and diabetes

We are now recruiting for our research project on the Internet which explores the functioning of people who suffer from an eating disorder. We are interested in recruiting people with either an: eating disorders only; or with both an eating disorders and diabetes. We invite you to visit our website to participate: www.eddiabetes.com

Furthermore, next September, we will conduct second part of the study in the ANEB Québec closed group. At this time, a researcher will come and explain the involvement of such participation. We are looking forward to meeting you!

Research projects in 2008-2009

In 2008-2009, three research projects were in progress at ANEB :

  • Supervised by Dr. Serge Lecours, professor at the University of Montreal in the psychology department, Ph.D. candidate Stéphanie Couture is researching the impact that feelings have on personal effectiveness, body dissatisfaction and alexithymia with regards to the etiology and the sustainment of eating disorder behaviours.

  • Supervised by Dr. Annie Aimé, professor at the University of Quebec in Outaouais in the psychology department, Ph.D. candidate Cynthia Gagnon is researching psychosocial problems related to eating disorders and the twofold problem of suffering from both diabetes and an eating disorder.

  • Supervised by Sylvie Fortin, professor at the University of Quebec in Montreal in the dance department, Chantale Vanasse is evaluating the impact of somatic education on people suffering from an eating disorder.
